Charles in Portsmouth Cathedral Charles in Portsmouth Cathedral

Charles' concert evenings have brought enormous pleasure to audiences up and down the country. During 'An Evening with Charles Timberlake' Charles has played and talked about his life and music. An atmospheric evening, serious yet light-hearted, audiences have been treated to a range of his own compositions, worship and popular songs, interspersed with stories and anecdotes along with a joke or two!

The following is a quote from Revd Richard Emblin, Vicar of St Mary's Church, Cowes:

"The churches have begun to listen more, and having listened to a reflective evening with Charles at the piano it became apparent to me that we need to not only listen but be willing to reflect. Only after listening and reflecting can we begin to know what God may require."

Charles has also performed in some of our most beautiful and magnificent Cathedrals, giving lunchtime concerts and recitals, and he has always considered this an enormous joy and privilege. Venues include Rochester, Lincoln, Peterborough, Ely, Norwich, St Edumundsbury, Llandaff, St Davids, Brecon, Gloucester, Wells, Exeter, Truro, Chichester, Portsmouth, Bath Abbey, Romsey Abbey and Southwell Minster.

He has taken part in remembrance services for hospices, including Naomi House and Jacksplace in Winchester Cathedral and Rowans Hospice in Portsmouth Cathedral - composing and performing pieces especially written for the occasion.

He has performed at three Christian Resources Exhibitions (both at Exeter and Sandown Park) and at two Christian Booksellers Conventions in Telford; and has toured extensively around the country bringing his music to the masses at weekend craft shows.

He has also presented school assemblies - even though experienced at being in front of children he has always found this an immensely challenging though rewarding experience!

At Easter 2020 he will have an opportunity to bring his inimitable style to the waves - being invited to join MV Astoria in an eleven-night cruise to the west coast of Scotland and to Ireland. One customer has already described this as Charles bringing his music to the Cathedral of the Seas.
